Warriors at Ease Training Programs 

Warriors at Ease offers a comprehensive suite of training programs birthed from some of the first clinical studies funded by the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs on the efficacy of yoga and meditation to help heal combat-related injuries.

Each of the Warriors at Ease trainings equips trainees with the unique knowledge and skills necessary to effectively deliver transformative mind-body practices to the military community to aid in the prevention of physical and invisible injuries seen as a result of time in service.

Level One Training

The Warriors at Ease Level One training is a self-paced online course designed for anyone who wishes to offer trauma-informed yoga, meditation, and/or mindfulness practices to the military community in support of their physical and mental health and well-being. 

With over 30 hours of video content, a robust training manual, and comprehensive notes throughout, the Warriors at Ease Level One Training has been called “a gem” and “the most comprehensive training I have ever taken.”

Modules include Core Concepts, Principles, and Skills for Teaching to the Military Community; Teaching Trauma Sensitive Meditation; Skills for Teaching Adaptive Yoga; Teaching Yoga and Meditation to Survivors of Military Sexual Trauma; and more.

Level Two Training

Open to 200-hour trained yoga teachers who have completed the Warriors at Ease Level One Training, the Warriors at Ease Level Two training provides three days of in-person, hands-on experience in how to teach adaptive yoga and trauma-informed meditation and mindfulness practices to the military community. Lectures are interwoven through hours of hands-on practice labs that address the most common physical and invisible injuries seen in service, including anxiety, depression, hearing loss, back pain, and loss of limb.

While the Warriors at Ease Level One training provides a stellar foundation for teaching yoga and mindfulness practices to our service members and their families, the Level Two training brings the work hands-on. In this training you can expect to learn: 

  • The Warriors at Ease Techniques and Protocols for teaching a safe and effective trauma-informed, adaptive, military-specific class whether it be in a studio or clinical setting
  • In-depth information on the effects of trauma on the brain, the Polyvagal Theory, Heart Rate Variability, Moral Injury, and more
  • Multiple modifications suitable for able-bodied veterans and individuals with limited mobility, including how to effectively use props and chairs for adaptive practice–and what to do when these aren’t available.

This training is open to those who have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and the Warriors at Ease Level One Training.

Level One + Two Combined Training

For those who have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and wish to dive in deep and fast, this four-day in-person training is combined with 20 hours of online pre-work and provides yoga teachers with our most comprehensive continuing education program. Participants will receive access to the full online Warriors at Ease Level One Training and are eligible to receive 62 continuing education credits with Yoga Alliance.

The Warriors at Ease Level One and Two Combination training is our most comprehensive continuing education program. Participants will complete 20 hours of online pre-work before coming together in an in-person learning environment. In this training you can expect to learn:

  • Core Concepts, Principles, and Skills for Teaching to the Military Community; Teaching Trauma Sensitive Meditation; Skills for Teaching Adaptive Yoga; Teaching Yoga and Meditation to Survivors of Military Sexual Trauma; and more.

Retreat Leader Training

The Warriors at Ease Retreat Leader Training curriculum was developed by Warriors at Ease co-founder Robin Carnes, and is a culmination of her career experience as a corporate trainer, positive psychology coach, group facilitator and team builder, health educator, curriculum developer, creativity and improvisation teacher, retreat leader, iRest teacher, and yoga therapist.

This immersive program equips you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to guide veterans and their loved ones on a transformative journey of self-discovery, utilizing the powerful tools of yoga, meditation, and mindful movement.

No previous Warriors at Ease training is needed to attend.

Custom Trainings and Wellness Programs

Warriors at Ease pulls from its existing training curricula to create custom trainings, workshop series, or programs for any department, unit, or organization that wants to bring health and wellness programming to the service members, veterans, families, or caregivers they serve. These trainings can be delivered in person or online.

Since 2011, Warriors at Ease trainings have provided yoga and meditation teachers, and service providers, with the most comprehensive set of tools and techniques necessary to deliver the practices of yoga and mindfulness to the military community in a safe, effective, and trauma-informed manner. While we are primarily known for our work in the areas of yoga and meditation our work does not stop there. Our team of master trainers with backgrounds in corporate training and adult education can craft the appropriate training for your team that integrates the transformative practices of breathwork, mindfulness movement, and psychoeducation on the importance of sleep, gratitude, healthy habits, and more.
